Bong Store Breakdown: The Top Five Aussie Retailers in 2021!

G’day, FABulous people! Today we’re taking a closer look at the best online bong shops operating across Australia.

It’s 2021, after all – we are still in pandemic pandemonium mode. Physical distancing for COVID-19 has made online vendors more essential – and accessible – than ever.
Hold up, though! Before you cash in that COVID relief check for a brand new piece, there are a few important things that you ought to look out for…

Questions Worth Your Consideration

Before purchasing a bong or vape on the ‘net, have you checked out the site’s:

Product Line: How unique and diverse is their product listing? What products do they stock? Do they have the right variety for you?

Glass: Will you receive high-quality, authentic glass?

Shipping: How discreet is the shipping process? How will the package be secured? What will the vendor do to prevent breakage?

Payment: What payment method/s do they accept?

If this seems like a significant amount of research for a single purchase… you aren’t wrong. The Friendly Aussie Buds team went ahead and did that research ourselves. We ordered from some of the most popular online bong shops in Australia to give you OUR verdict… and in the process, maybe help to save our readers some precious time.
With FAB’s Bong Store Breakdown, you can make an informed purchase – just like that!

FAB’s Five Favourites

1. The Bong Shop
thebongshop.com.au

The Bong Shop is Australia’s quintessential cannabis device shopping experience. As the largest and longest-running online bong store down under, you can rest assured in their quality products and reliable customer service.

The child company of longstanding alternative clothing store ‘Off Ya Tree’ is famous for its top-notch consumer experience. The ‘Bong Shop’ website is beautifully designed; not to mention quick, responsive, and easy to navigate. Their shipping is quick and discreet – and they accept credit cards!

The store carries a range of bongs, vaporisers and accessories. Additionally, they hold supplies for shishas and hookahs, which are otherwise rare for an online bong store (…at least ‘down under’). Among their most popular items are classic Aussie ‘Agung’ glass bongs – the round ones, with metal stems. These beauties range from $25 to just under $100.

The Bong Shop’s wide range of bubblers and pipes could give it an edge over the competition… if that’s what you’re looking for. However, if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, they also sell market-leading dry herb vapes like the PAX 3 and the Volcano!

The ‘Bong Shop’ carries a range of ‘premium’ glass bongs, with inbuilt percolators. These generally range from $175-275. These premium pieces do seem a little expensive; especially in comparison to the quality of what’s on offer, elsewhere. However, there are plenty of other items on the site that still represent excellent value.

They also carry all the standard extraspapers, blunts and all kinds of accessories!

Overall, ‘The Bong Shop’ gets a 4.5/5 from us. They could improve by adding to their stock, or reducing their prices for ‘premium’ products.

2. The GreenBox
thegreenbox.net.au

The GreenBox is a small Sydney-based bong store that packs a big punch – featuring unique miniature bongs, amazing customer service, and great accessories.

The GreenBox is something of an unsung hero in Australia’s current ‘bong store’ market. What once started off as a ‘gift box’ subscription service for cannabis enthusiasts has now evolved into so much more… these days, The GreenBox is one of Australia’s most reliable, affordable and diverse online retail stores, offering a range of products you’ll struggle to find elsewhere. You can find bongs, vaporisers, dab rigs, presses and decarb/extraction tools for sale on their website at competitive prices!

If you’re on the hunt for a cute little glass piece, The GreenBox offers plenty of choices when it comes to bongs 40cm and under! Their adorable little branded water pipes set them apart from the competition – these stylish little rippers are so much fun!

In terms of the vaporiser lineup that The GreenBox offers… they do have a few! You can find market leaders like Arizer, PAX and Storz & Bickel on their site – but they also sell vape pens!

We especially find The GreenBox to be a fantastic source for all kinds of smoking accessories – papers, filters, grinders, bowls, stems and other assorted glass, lighters… the whole lot! Their clean and efficient website design makes online shopping with The GreenBox a breeze – it’s a fabulous experience. If you’re running low on supplies, this is the place to go.

In summation – we give The GreenBox a 4.25/5. They’re definitely pulling ‘above their weight’ for a retailer their size… and we love their bongs! We want to see the website and its offerings grow before it can truly best our top contender.

3. OzBongs
ozbongs.com.au

OzBongs are well known by the community-at-large as highly regarded glass vendors.

OzBongs proclaim themselves as ‘Australia’s biggest bong shop’… and depending on how you measure it, they aren’t wrong! OzBongs has a massive variety of bongs – including famous international brands, such as ROOR, Sovereignty, EHLE, Pyrology, and more! They stock magnificent pieces of artwork, fetching up to $1000 – $2500!

OzBongs are well known for their expensive lineup – but they also stock plenty of the more moderately-ranged pieces from the United States, Germany and China. They have a large range of replacement parts; including their own https://afriendindeedstore.com/stDhOP brand, which is rebranded Chinese glass. Their prices for the less custom, high-end pieces are very much in line with other vendors.

On top of that, they stock novelty bongs, agungs, pipes, papers, grinders, oil tools, vapes, e-liquids, and so much more. Recently, they even starting distributing the Gatorbeug!

Plus, their website is very functional. It’s an enormous store with plenty to see – it’s a really good browsing experience, even just for a window shop! Despite their expansive range, we found the site easy enough to navigate. If you enjoy the user experience that OzBongs offer, their rewards system for returning customers could be great to get involved in. They also perform price-matches against their competitors* (*terms and conditions apply!).

There is one major letdown, when it comes to OzBongs: they only accept bank deposits. This means that the whole process does take a little longer, and can be tedious. Shipping for a smaller bong is $12; with larger bongs netting shipping costs up to $25. The pieces then come directly and discreetly via courier.

Our personal experiences with OzBongs have been very positive. It’s no wonder they are one of Australia’s favourite bong stores! Overall, OzBongs gets a 4.25/5 from the FAB team. One major improvement is still needed – please add credit/debit cards to your payment options!

4. Glass Prophets
glassprophets.com.au

Glass Prophets are a big player in the ‘Aussie bong’ space; with significant street recognition, and an impressive lineup of custom pieces from glassblowers across Australia… and the world.

They’re all about glass: be it bongs, pipes, slides, dab rigs, vaporisers, or accessories for the most pro-level stoners. Their focus is on local glassblowing talent – but they do also feature a gigantic range of American pieces.

The prophets have glass that should cater to any stoner’s needs – with vaporisers, magical butter machines, and bongs in all price ranges. However, they are a little pricier than some of their competition – especially factoring in their double-digit shipping costs (up to $50!)

We appreciate the clean stylings of the Glass Prophets website – although we do feel as if their search/category functions could work a little better.

In terms of payment options, though, the Glass Prophets are way ahead of their competition. They come through with multiple secure ways to process your order – you can even use PayPal and cryptocurrency! Their online store is elegantly designed; and the cart is just awesome, from a web design perspective.

All in all, the Glass Prophets are an excellent Aussie store, supporting amazing, talented glass artists. We give them a 4.25/5 – they may out-price *most people*, but these pieces are not just for regular old shmoe’s!

5. A Friend Indeed
afriendindeedstore.com

If you can really appreciate some custom glass, or just really love your vapes…A Friend Indeed could be your new ‘Friend In Weed’!

No matter what kind of cannabis enthusiast you happen to be, A Friend Indeed is likely to have your every need covered! With an expansive lineup of bubblers, beakers and sliders, big and small, along with a dizzying number of dab rigs and accessories… their huge water pipe selection is enough to make other bong shops envious!

AFI are one of the few Australian retailers who support the concentrates community, banger and nail. With a range of torches, butane, and rigs that make your head spin with their beauty, they’re encouraging the Aussie cannabis community to take it to the next level. All the dabbers out there in Australia can rest easy… knowing that their favourite stuff can be found on A Friend Indeed!

There’s simply no shortage of vaporisers, either – you can find them in both herb and concentrate form, on this site!

We reckon that the A Friend Indeed store is a solid 4/5, all things considered. Their website could use a little bit of work… but we absolutely love the uniqueness and class of their product line. They’ve got some awesome custom bongs, and a good line of vaporisers. AFI is all about the culture!

Honourable Mentions For 2021

6. Smoke Milk
www.smokemilk.com

Smoke Milk is a relatively new player to the ‘Bong Store’ world… but we really love their website for their unique aesthetic, along with the fantastic blogs and resources that they post!

Their glassware isn’t too bad, either. Lots of unique concepts, shapes and sizes – if you’re looking for a novelty bong, and want to support some glassblowing talent, this could be the retailer for you! Free shipping for orders over $100 when you use the code ‘FREESHIPPING’.

Seriously, though – check out their blogs. It’s a massive part of what makes this site so good.

We give them a 3.5/5 – they aren’t really competing with some of the major retailers, and they exist in their own space… but that’s why we love them.

7. Gatorbeug
www.gatorbeug.com

Gatorbeug sell unique and distinctively Aussie pieces – you won’t find stuff like this anywhere else!

Gatorbeug excels at producing awesome novelty bongs that speak to the hearts and minds of the Australian cannabis community. Let me ask you this… have you ever wanted a Glass Gatey? The perfect form factor, but *not plastic*? Gatorbeug understands. What about if you just want to smoke out of a Vegemite jar? Gatorbeug gets you.

You can buy Gatorbeug products from their website, as well as from other online bong stores. We love the creativity infused into the pieces that these guys make – and so do a few of the stores we’ve mentioned, which have recently set up distribution with the company!

Gatorbeug receives a 3.5/5 from us – they have a few amazing products, with new ones coming out all of the time. We also appreciate the website improvements. Their lineup and site could still use some work, though!

8. Mull Up
mullup.com.au

Besides having a great name, Mull Up boasts an easily-navigable website, and a decent selection of bongs and vaporisers.

The store even stocks a few brands of glass that others generally don’t – like Mav, Nugg Life Pure Glass, and Thick Ass Glass. Designer bongs can go for ~$800. They also stock all of the classic Agungs, at cheap prices. Check out the TAG bongs; they’re affordable, with thick 9mm glass!

A lot of Mull Up’s bongs are competitively priced. They have a good selection of vaporisers that sit around standard RRP; as well as papers, blunts and pre-rolls. They even have palm-leaf blunt wraps! M.U. offers shipping at a flat rate of $10. They accept bank transfers and credit card transactions.

Overall, Mull Up gets 3.5/5. They have an okay website, but they could use a redesign. They also need a wider variety of products to back it up.

Not sure! We’ll give them a buzz tomorrow to see if we can find out anything. If we don’t get much out of them, we’ll remove them from the list.

Can you please explain why you continue to promote a business that sells sweet puff / ice pipes? (Bargain Bongs) I was under the impression you created this website to help the community? Ice has no place near our community.

Hey I’m not affiliated with the website at all but it seems a little hypocritical to support one drug delivery device (bongs, pipes, vapes) compared to another (sweet puffs) when they’re both potentially illegal and can be difficult to buy. While I acknowledge that ice is a significantly more addictive and destructive drug than cannabis I don’t believe the availability of meth pipes has any effect on a persons choice to use meth. Also other substances can be used in those pipes like DMT (or any other vaporizeable drug) although I acknowledge that is a small minority. I’d also like to point… Read more »

Yeh whatever If u don’t puff on the Devils Cock why do u care or even submit this objection.Obviously the Police are going to hold a stronger objection to crystal Methamphetamine than bait off weed. There are at least a 1000 differences betwen bongs and whistles one being a stoner after a new bong an a tweakier 5 days old.

Looking forward to shopping at Bongs Mart with that coupon! I’m glad to know there is a bit of quality control for these shops as well. I assume each of these shops has discreet packaging.

Hey everyone! So if anyone else is wary of where they get their bongs from In Australia because of fraud sites and or having your money stolen. I am here to confirm that I have recently been stitched up by 2 aussie smoke shops and one of them is on this list. If anyone knows how to get your money back when the deeds been done and youve already ordered, I would appreciate any help. And to the people at BargainBongsOnline & BongsnPipesonline. Is it that hard to produce aussies with fucking good bongs and actually send them surely it’s… Read more »
