Reviewing Home-Grown Hemp Hair Products
We met Alexander from the Global Hemp Movement when he travelled to our studio to jump onto our podcast. We had some valuable chats, and got our own fair share of ‘firsthand experience’ with the sheer versatility of hemp. Alex was kind enough to hook us up with samples of his own hemp shampoo, conditioner and hair oil!
After using these products for several weeks… we came to a final verdict. We’re ready to review these all-natural ‘hemp haircare’ products from GHM!
Does their hemp shampoo and conditioner go ‘head to shoulders’ with the competition?
Get ready: you’re about to find out.
All of the products we received were labelled and themed with the fragrant and inoffensive ‘Tropical Passion’ . There are, of course, other variants available on GHM’s store. In any case, this is a scent that ‘does the job’; it’s a delicious, full bodied bouquet.
GHM’s ‘Tropical Passion’ hair products use fragrant botanicals that possess a fun, fruity aroma... somewhat reminiscent to pineapples, coconuts and other tropical delicacies.
This is perhaps one of the most enjoyable aspects of these ‘hemp haircare’ products. It really is a lovely smell. You’ll be leaving the shower feeling all fruity and fresh!
GHM Hemp Shampoo
GHM claims on their website that their Hemp shampoo will ‘take your locks on a tropical holiday’. After running it through my hair, I can say there’s some truth to this marketing idiom.
GHM’s fragrant hemp shampoo is excellent at banishing oily residue. It leaves hair feeling light and vibrant.
This shampoo is full of nourishing, all-natural ingredients; it cleanses hair of build-up, without stripping it of protective oils.
This shampoo ultimately stands as an example of functionality over and above form factor. Everything about it works well… except, the shampoo itself is notably runny. It’s clear in appearance, and lacks viscosity. Not exactly the most appealing feeling shampoo of all time… but it is all natural, and works a charm!
Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyglucose, Glyceryl Cocoate, Hemp Seed Oil, Olive Esters, Pro Vitamin B5, Wheat Amino Acids, Horsetail, Rosemary, Gotu Kola, Colloidal Silver, Fragrance, Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate.
This shampoo contains Gotu Kola, which is known to improve scalp circulation.
It also contains Horsetail – which contains silica and selenium, both contributing to stronger hair and regulated hair growth.
Rosemary contributes to improved circulation and anti-inflammatory properties; it is also rich in Carnosic Acid, which may help to heal nerve damage.
Wheat Amino Acids, which can combine with other proteins in your hair, strengthens hair cuticles and protects your hair from breakage.
Massage a dollop of our hemp shampoo into damp hair. Work into a lather, and finesse through your ends to get a deep clean. Rinse thoroughly.
Be sure to use the shampoo before the conditioner.
GHM Hemp Conditioner
GHM’s hemp conditioner is a five-star treatment for your hair.
With this rich, luxurious conditioner, you can finally say farewell to split ends and dry, frizzy hair.
The GHM hemp conditioner was an absolute pleasure to use. The all-natural botanicals leave a delicious smell that sticks to your body; while the plant-based oils protect and hydrate any damaged hair.
After just a week of daily use, I noticed shinier, healthier locks. This stuff works – and it’s considerably less runny than the shampoo. If you’re exploring the world of haircare products in a quest to find the ultimate conditioner… this product may just be for you.
Water, Aloe Vera, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Hemp Seed Oil, Shea, Pro Vitamin B5, Wheat Amino Acids, Horsetail, Rosemary, Gotu Kola and Colloidal Sliver.
We use a combination of shea butter and hemp seed oil to nourish and hydrate hair.
Our conditioner contains natural aloe vera extract; high in proteolytic enzymes, which assist cell repair and improve follicle health.
Both hemp oil and aloe vera have antifungal properties, which can help treat scalp irritation and dandruff.
We have included colloidal silver – which has been shown to reduce – and in some cases, prevent – hair loss.
GHM conditioner also contains pro-vitamin B5; helping to rebuild the protective cuticle along the hair shaft. This strengthens hair and reverses heat damage.
Massage this conditioner into your ends daily.
For particularly dry and damaged hair, leave the conditioner in for 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
GHM uses natural oils in all of their haircare products, to protect and hydrate damaged follicles. Say farewell to dry, frizzy hair!
GHM Hemp Shampoo and Conditioner are a great natural alternative to other products. They’re both made without parabens, silicones and sodium laureth sulfate.
We recommend picking up this set. If you’re applying both the shampoo and conditioner, you’ll have the best results in cleansing your hair without stripping it of its natural oils.
Generally speaking, you should use the conditioner every day, and the shampoo 2-3 times per week.
GHM Hemp Hair Oil
More like… beard oil!
I’ve been using this product through my beard (rather than my hair) for the last week. GHM’s hair oil is designed to make your head hair glossier and improve overall follicle integrity.
Over the course of the past week, I noticed that my hairs were looking darker and sleeker. In just seven days, my beard appeared fuller and healthier than it was a week ago. My beard was also smelling tropical – and better than ever!
Hemp Seed Oil, Argan Oil, Baobab, Meadowfoam, Silk Amino Acids and Island Escape Fragrance.
GHM uses premium Australian hemp oil to keep hair hydrated, protected and non-frizzy. Hemp oil is also a ceramide oil; rich in fatty acids, which help smooth and protect the scales along the hair shaft.
Argan and baobab oils repair existing damage in the hair shaft – especially against heat and humidity. Baobab is also rich in fatty acids; improving shine, softening textures and protecting hairs.
The proteins in silk amino acids bond with the natural keratin in your hair, helping them to strengthen and rehydrate.
Made without parabens, silicones and sodium laureth sulfate – just like the shampoo and conditioner.
Simply apply the oil to the ends of damp hair after showering. This should give your tresses enhanced hydration, and an intoxicating tropical scent. Massage into the roots of your hair before bed for an enriching overnight treatment. Wash in the morning, then style as usual.
For best results, use after washing your hair with GHM shampoo and conditioner. For external use only. Oil stains clothing; keep away from fabrics.
