Avid cannabis enthusiast and entrepreneur Alexander Gorshenin was kind enough to stop by at FAB Headquarters to chat about the often under-appreciated past, present, and potential future legacy of hemp.
Alex is a guy who believes wholeheartedly in a global hemp revolution, and transformative systems change – driven by good vibes, solid intentions, and the most sustainable of materials, resources and technologies at our disposal. Alex tells us that in great part, as a species, we already have access to the things we need.
While Alexander had smoked his fair share of cannabis, throughout his life… he had to attend a cannabis expo to really understand and appreciate the sheer diversity of use cases, when it comes to this plant. Seeing it with his own two eyes set him in a direction that has led him to establish multiple cannabis and hemp-related businesses in Australia.

Australia – Legalise HEMP!
Alexander himself concedes that there is a long way to go when it comes to normalising hemp in items of everyday use. Incredible progress has been made in the span of just a few years. This doesn’t change the basic fact that the cannabis community is still being actively driven underground by state security forces. We are still facing the same stigmas and tired old narratives that prevent what would otherwise be common-sense.
There is a ‘global hemp movement‘, to be sure… but when it comes to the mass adoption of hemp and cannabis products in developed countries like Australia, we need people like Alexander to continue putting in the hard yards. Their ‘grassroots’ advocacy is making the difference in people’s lives; providing folks with access to this versatile and remarkably useful plant.
If the cannabis community can band together, we can make an immeasurable impact on the systems that segment us and push us to the margins.
