We at Friendly Aussie Buds are very excited to announce that ‘Australia’s Leading Cannabis Publication’ now has its very own podcast!
Hosted semi-regularly by Mitch Keys and Joe LaGrasso, the ‘Friendly Aussie Podcast’ intends to cover all things even tangentially related to the Australian cannabis scene. Of course, you can come to expect a decent share of social commentary on the issues of prohibition and legalisation – but we’ll also be sure to initiate some more fun, easygoing discussions. Keep an eye out for future episodes, where we will be interviewing a variety of local musicians, artists, entrepreneurs, stoners, along with everyone in between!

Episode 1!
In this episode, we take the bold first step of introducing who we are. We explain our mission statement as a publication, and develop in words what we plan to do with the podcast into the future, with plenty of goofs, gaffes and giggles along the way.
We talk about the everyday realities of being a stoner and the many challenges one can come to face with this lifestyle – particularly in the way of productivity. We cover the dangers of weed grown with PGR, or ‘Plant Growth Regulators‘, discussing the ways in which our origin as a publication is interwoven with the stuff, and the broader shift in consciousness occurring within the Australian black market.
We proclaim our allegiances to the movement that seeks to legalise cannabis in Australia on both a recreational and medicinal level – and yes, we mean ‘the whole plant’. We want to see Australia become a leader in manufacturing hemp, plant medicines and psychedelic experiences, alike. It’s not just a matter of legalisation for us, but a reclaiming of our own power in our everyday lives – and we see cannabis as a great ‘first step’. We’ve been working on different tools – such as ‘Better Letters‘ – to help facilitate a broader social and political transformation towards this aim.

Some Numbers
Friendly Aussie Buds have pumped out over 90 online articles in the past year, having written over 95,000 words. In that time, we’ve attracted over 150,000 unique visitors to our website, gaining over 4,000 likes on our facebook page and nearly 1,000 followers on our instagram!
We truly are shaping up to become one of the predominant voices of the Australian cannabis community – and we couldn’t have done all of this without our loyal readership. So, for both new and old fans alike, thanks for giving us a chance and sticking around!
